Keeping your mind free of “afterthoughts”

In meditation, whatever thoughts, emotions, and feelings come, neither do you try to block them nor do you follow them. They come and go, like the wind. The secret is not to think about them but allow them to flow through the mind, while keeping your mind free of “afterthoughts.”
