Feelings of aggression, jealousy and pride come and go, and although all our emotional states and the very lives we pass through are illusory and temporary, we continue to make the mistake of believing them to be never-ending and permanent.
Ironically, as we fail to see through these delusions, we also miss the one enduring element that has no expiry date: buddha nature. We simply don’t notice it, even though it is so close it might as well be right in front or our noses. We are extremely skilled at constructing the web that binds us to samsaric life, yet powerless to dismantle it, even if we wanted to – which we don’t.
